Capitalizing on Networked Devices in AV System Design
Central to the AV/IT convergence is the concept of networked devices and the design, installation and maintenance of these devices and the networks by which they interconnect. AV technicians, integrators and installers are using networked hardware and implementing their interconnection at a pace and scope equal to that formerly employed exclusively by their IT co-workers. AV veteran Bennett Liles examines six critical areas in which networked AV devices are revolutionizing the industry.

“Capitalizing on Networked Devices in System Design” takes a conceptual approach to determining the most effective use for the newest AV hardware that listens to control signals and talks to other hardware over IP networks. First up is the AV room control systems typically used to operate displays and media playback devices for presentation. Used virtually everywhere, the largest deployments of these networked systems are seen in the academic community. It is clear that digital signage is an industry built on network technology the use of networked devices here is examined. We will also examine how IP networks are used to extend computer control, provide BIOS level server access and remote power control. The use of IP-linked cameras in security systems and networked multi-display video processors in control centers is also covered. Finally, we look at the exploding realm of digital audio networks with protocols like CobraNet, Ethersound, A-Net and an exciting newcomer called Dante. In this webinar we take a closer look at IP-Linked AV Multimedia Control Systems, Digital Signage Networks, IP-Linked KVM Extension, Security, Command & Control, IP-Linked Power Control, and Digital Audio Networks.
