Avocent Receives Global ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Certification covering worldwide design, development, manufacture, marketing, sale and support of electronic devices underscores Avocent"s commitment to excellence

Huntsville, Ala., April 24, 2003 - Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ/NM: AVCT) today announced that it has received ISO 9001:2000 certification for its global business processes. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) awarded this certification for Avocent's demonstrated excellence in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, sales and support of the company's electronic devices for computer interface products. Avocent completed this certification process in only 10 months, passing numerous on-site inspections and demonstrating that its documented processes and overall global operations fully comply with the stringent ISO standards.
