CCM840 and CCM1640 Appliances Annnounced
Sunrise, FL, November 17, 2003 - Equinox Systems, an Avocent company, (NASDAQ: AVCT),
will be demonstrating CCM840 and CCM1640, its newest fully managed console access products, at Computer Digital Expo in Las
Vegas, Nov. 17-20,
2003.
The Equinox eight and 16-port CCM products deliver secure and reliable serial-over-IP access to console ports of servers and serially
managed devices such as network hubs and routers. The CCM appliances are managed with AVWorks, management software that provides point and click access to serial devices, as well as advanced
management capabilities that simplify control of individual devices. Offline history buffering and hardware break suppression distinguish the CCM from
simplistic terminal servers, which are often misused for console port access.
"Introducing the new Equinox CCM840 and CCM1640 at Computer Digital Expo is a great
opportunity for us to demonstrate the ease of management, performance and flexibility these new console cluster appliances provide," said Mitch Friend, vice president of Equinox sales.
"Attendees also will be able to get a first look at how these products work to alert administrators of critical problems and allow them to respond
quickly."
For flexible network hub connectivity, the CCM840 and CCM1640 offer 10/100BaseT and IP forwarding.
Additional features that help administrators manage serial console ports include RSA key-based authentication, SSH/Telnet host, enterprise traps and port history functionality. As with all
Equinox products, the CCM product line provides surge protection to ensure that serial ports do not fail in mission-critical environments.
AVWorks, included with each appliance, supports all of the major operating systems, including Windows
2000, XP, 98, and NT, RedHat Linux and Solaris. Pricing for the CCM840, 8-port unit is $1695 MSRP, while the CCM1640, 16-port is available for $2195
MSRP.
Equinox will be demonstrating CCM840 and CCM1640 at Computer Digital Expo in Las
Vegas, Nov. 17-20, in Booth # 2322. For more information, visit www.equinox.com.
