Avocent Announces Exclusive Distributor Relationship with Comm-Tec for AV products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Demand grows for Avocent’s wired and wireless audiovisual and broadcast products

Huntsville, AL January 29, 2008 - Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT), today at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade conference in Amsterdam announced a new exclusive distributor relationship with Comm-Tec Vertriebsgesellschaft für Communication Techology mbH of Uhingen, Germany. As part of the agreement, Comm-Tec will exclusively offer Avocent’s Emerge® family of professional wired and wireless audio video products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Avocent offers a full line of “Managed AV Infrastructure” solutions for professional audio/video and broadcast markets. The Avocent Emerge family of wired and wireless products provide AV and KVM extension, switching, distribution and signal processing. At the 2008 ISE trade show, Avocent further expanded its Emerge product line with a high-definition (HD) multipoint extender, which wirelessly distributes HD content from a single source to multiple destinations and as well as new solutions to enable broadcast professionals to convert digital and analog video to other formats (see companion announcements).
