Release Notes

Version 3.49

· Fixed a problem where the DCD (carrier) was not being properly monitored. Changes to the signal were not being seen by the driver leading to incorrect modem handling. This problem was the result of previous changes made to the driver to handle the Atmel part (i.e., it was a regression).

· Fixed a problem where loss of carrier (the DCD signal drops) was being improperly handled for the direct connect device name. DCD drops are now ignored for the direct connect device in the same way as when CLOCAL is enabled.

· Fixed a problem where an open failure on the direct connect device name failed to clear a status bit implying that the device was open. This led to improper interactions between the modem device name and the direct connect device name. Specifically, the port could no longer be opened as a modem device until it had been successfully opened and closed as a direct connect device even though the port had been closed.

· Fixed a problem with the EQNCHAN diagnostic utility where it reported status for the incorrect port when invoked with the syntax "eqnchan -d /dev/term/1b1" rather than the syntax "eqnchan /dev/term/1b1 -d". This only impacted ports on panels other than the first one.

· Added additional information to the "eqnchan -d" output to facilitate future trouble shooting of customer problems.

· Fixed a problem reported by a customer where parity and/or framing errors on a channel could result in a panic if PARMRK processing were enabled and the port was being monitored by the SSDIAG datascope feature.

Version 3.48

· Added support for the new SST-4P/ULP (Universal Low Profile) board.

· Added the SST-MM4P and SST-MM8P boards to the "eqnstty –c" display.

· Fixed some minor logging problems in eqnMKN when replacing boards with new board types.

· Added the –B option to SSDIAG. When SSDIAG is invoked with the –B option, the datascope displays printable characters based on baudot mappings rather than the normal ASCII mappings. (example: ssdiag –B)

Version 3. 47

· On some occasions the restoration of panels after a loss of the Ring Clock would result in ports remaining in a bad state.

· Added additional code to the Expansion Bus management code to ensure that the SSP state machine is in a correct state and that the SSP Input registers are set to the correct values. In particular, a debounce delay was added when the driver sees the ring clock being restored after an outage and the register values are validated for an additional period after restoring the panels to an online state. This results in two delay periods of approximately 1 second each (about 800 milliseconds).

· Provides a fix for Multiplexer Interface Modules (MIM-1) and Cluster Multiplexers (CMX16-DB and CMX16-RJ). With the previous release, these board pairs would never go "online".

Version 3. 46

· Implemented work-around for Atmel state machine (25 foot cable) problem.

· Fixed panic caused on shutdown if transparent printing was enabled and jobs were in queue.

· SSDIAG - loopback ‘Halt on error’ feature now works correctly.

· Changed package removal script to properly remove init.d boot script and give option to remove all database/logfile backups.

· Added new ID for new DB9 panel on SST16P board.

Version 3. 45

· This driver has been modified to work around a potential problem that results in PnP misconfiguration of the SST-4P and SST-8P.

Version 3. 44

· Fixed bug in the driver that could cause a panic on 64-port PCI products. It was possible for a board to fail to physically map into memory causing the panic.

· Corrected a problem with register bank switch which caused applications to hang on a read, even when characters were available to satisfy the read.

· Added support for SST-2I cards.

· Added the Multi-Modem country code utility.

Version 3.42

· Added support for SST-8P/RJ (P2)

· Added support for SST-MM4P and SST-MM8P

· Added support for CompactPCI board SST-8C
