Release Notes: SST Driver for SCO Unix
Installation Instructions
The zip download file is in "dd - compressed" UNIX Format. You must run "uncompress" then "dd" the file to a 1.44MB floppy diskette to create an install disk. Then use use "custom" or "scoadmin" to install the driver. Please view SCO_DNLD.TXT for additional installation information.
Use this driver for ISA/EISA/MCA and PCI Type Bus platforms.
Release Notes
Version 3.51
· The processing of SSP timer events is now qualified by verifying that a slave printer is configured and enabled. Apparently, the enabling and subsequent disabling of a slave printer could result in stale timer events that could cause a system panic.
Version 3.50
· Added support for SST-4P/LP ( Low Profile) board.
Version 3.49
· On some occasions the restoration of panels after a loss of the Ring Clock would result in ports remaining in a bad state.
· Added additional code to the Expansion Bus management code to ensure that the SSP state machine is in a correct state and that the SSP Input registers are set to the correct values. In particular, a debounce delay was added when the driver sees the ring clock being restored after an outage and the register values are validated for an additional period after restoring the panels to an online state. This results in two delay periods of approximately 1 second
each (about 800 milliseconds).
· Provides a fix for Multiplexer Interface Modules (MIM-1) and Cluster Multiplexers (CMX16-DB and CMX16-RJ). With the previous release, these board pairs would never go "online".
· Ports on ISA cards were not being initialized properly. Generally, all but the first two ports on an ISA card would not operate correctly and would experience input/output failures.
The correct values are now restored for all board and bus types.
Version 3.48
Modified expansion bus configuration algorithm to test if the SSP 64 state machine is ok. If it is not, then toggle the ring clock and repeat expansion bus configuration. This is known as the ATMEL fix (for 25' expansion bus cables). Once the ring is correctly established, restore input registers to their correct values in case they have been corrupted while the SSP 64 state machine was in a bad state.
Version 3.47
· This driver has been modified to work around a potential problem that results in PnP misconfiguration of the SST-4P and SST-8P.
· Fixed the Driver Remove script to not remove ESP files when removing the SST driver. Previously, the script would incorrectly remove ESP files.
Version 3.46
· Added support for the new Multi-Modem Country Code Utility.
· Corrected a problem with the final close logic. If a final close is in progress and a new open is received, the new open must wait for the final close to complete.
Version 3.45
· Added support for SST-MM4P and SST-MM8P
